ePAY Meals

A meal benefit that stays a meal benefit.

Meal Subsidy

Many large companies consider meal subsidies an essential component of an effective staff benefit program.

Meal subsidies ensure that staff receive a hot meal each day, providing the mental alertness and energy to function effectively at work.

The challenge confronting companies, however, is how to distribute meal subsidies in a manner that ensures the benefit is used wholly and solely for meals. Cash disbursements, for example, can be used for purposes other than meals, which would negate the objective of the program.

Staff Benefit

  • Staff more productive
  • Save time
  • Happy staff
  • Build loyalty
  • Keep up with competitors

The provision of a meal benefit to staff is required on two fronts:

01

In-House Canteens

Where the workplace is far away from eating facilities (restaurants) and, therefore, the company provides an on-premises canteen facility where workers can obtain meals.

02

External Canteens

Where the workplace is close to multiple restaurants and the company wishes to ensure that the benefit is used strictly for meals.

In-House Canteens

The ePAY solution for meal management is clearly the leader in this space. Our meal management program is used by virtually all major companies that operate a canteen for their workers/staff.

  • Employees are provided with a card to be loaded with funds by the company.
  • The company is provided with a website portal that enables the company to easily load funds to employees' cards in bulk.
  • The company is able to set rules around usage:
    • Employees can be limited to spending no more than $x per day or per month.
    • The cards can be used only at the canteen or at external restaurants.
    • Unused funds at the end of the month can be cancelled or rolled over to the next month.
    • Rules can be customized.
  • The company and canteen are provided with 24/7 online reports that display the quantity and value of transactions. These reports allow for reconciliation, settlement and payments for the company and canteen operator.

Other companies provide a meal subsidy to their employees, but they do not have an internal canteen to provide the meals. These companies wish to provide a meal subsidy to their staff and want to ensure that the subsidy is used only for meals.

The ePAY platform resolves this issue by limiting the use of the card to eateries only and onboarding major quick service restaurants and a wide variety of smaller restaurants and cook shop operators island-wide that accept ePAY cards.

Together, these provide a diverse range of eateries that broaden the meal options available to ePAY card holders while ensuring that subsidies are used only for meal consumption.
